We have a long-standing interest in ellucidating the structural basis for host-pathogens interactions, for both bacterial and viral pathogens. This aspect is primarily through collaborations with the department of Infectious Diseases at King's.
We notably have active projects on the structure and mechanism of antiviral restriction factors such as APOBEC3G and MX2, in collaboration with Mike Malim. We are also interested in the structure of bacterial effector proteins secreted by the type III secretion system, together with Charlotte Odendall.
